Fluid couplings are the easiest and cheapest way of creating a perfectly Flexible Drive Train, because no mechanical parts are necessary between the motor and the Equipment or Machine being driven.
Without mechanical parts, there is practically no wear. The elasticity of the fluid coupling solves problems of power peaks in conventional electric motors and the machines they drive.

SAMT specialise in the supply of fluid couplings, HF type couplings are radially displaceable, enabling prealignment of driving and driven shafts prior to assembly. A metallic flexible disc coupling is fitted to both ends. They give starting torque down to 120% of nominal torque. The HF is a standard coupling; HFD comes with a delayfil chamber and HF-DX with extended delayfil chamber. Standard fusible plug blow off temperature is 130 degrees C.
